If it doesn't have to pass smog checks, I would look at isuzu engines.
I have a 4 cylinder in a swather, it runs on the smell of an oily rag, 
and really puts out torque.  It has 80 hp only, but there was the same 
engine in a 6 cylinder version.  Injection is diesel Kiki, a bosch 
clone, using an inline pump IIRC.  I have to run outside in a few 
minutes and I'll have a look William regarding some numbers to look up. 
  I would use this in a second, it just needs an adapter.  I have a c 
series chevy truck with a 6 cylinder and a glide that I have been 
contemplating finding a 6 cylinder Isuzu industrial for.  Mine's in a 
new noble swather, but they were used in Massey 220 swathers and earlier 
coop swathers.  The 36 foot header ones had the 6 cylinder.
Nice year of Hudson.  I'm jealous.
