Lye or Potash (Potassium Hydroxide) works on oily stain because, in the
presence of water, it joins with the oil and becomes soap.
The Lye (NAOH) or Potash (KOH) driveway cleaners also work great on oil
spots for the same reason.
Look for one of the two on the label, and you are set.
CAUTION: BOTH ARE QUITE CAUSTIC!! Use at your own considerable risk.
