[Vwdiesel] blinking alternator light

I've hosed my engine off lots of times and never had a
problem.

I cannot imagine that the IP gets hot enough to warp,
I've never even noticed steam coming off of it while
washing the engine down.

The exhaust would be a much more likely candidate for
warpage, though for as much warning as I've see I've
never had a problem with that either.

Once my old Beetle didn't want to start up until I
dried out the distributor, but that was the only
problem ever. I don't think there is really too much
to worry about in the engine compartment of an old
diesel.
