[Vwdiesel] dim lights, thick smoke (and loud loud music)

If you'd rather fix what you have, start checking things... like voltage
at the light switch, leaving the switch, and lights... well, you already
know the light voltage is low, or it has a bad ground. Better is to
wire a relay in by the headlights, to just use the headlamp circuit to
switch the relay, and power goes from battery post, to circuit breaker
you install, to a relay, to the headlamp. Needs 2 relays- one for high
beam, one for low, can use the same circuit breaker- mount it on the
inner fender or something with the bakelight(brown plastic) part facing
down.
You replaced the ground straps, what about the power +ve lead to the
starter solenoid?
