[Vwdiesel] Battery Source

  I think if you repeat that with any battery you'll have the same 
results.  It's the electronics in the silverado.  Dad's '04 'max does 
that too.  Something to do with the ECU not going into storage mode or 
something, not holding your mouth just so when you turn the key off.  I 
never really paid much attention, but it happens to him too with the 
stock delco batteries as well- one month is good enough for it to 
flatline.  We take the cable off now when they go off on a trip with the 
05 Passat.

Optimas DO NOT like being drained.  If you plan on that, get the yellow 
top deep cycle ones.  A buddy routinely kills his in his fishing boat 
and it survives just fine, but the red top ones do not recover well.
