[Vwdiesel] OT, problem with a different diesel engine

  First things I'd look at/for are air and fuel filters (if one needs 
changing the 
other has probably been neglected too) air leak in the fuel supply line or a 
bad injector.  Usually it's 6.2 or sometimes 6.5 GM's that you'll see running 

down the road, putt-putt out some white, raw fuel smoke, run along for a few 
hundred yards and repeat.  I suspect this would be doing something similar. 
Scott has a lot more experience in these.  ;-)
