[Vwdiesel] Fan thermo switch failure problem

Sounds like the relay is switching power for the fan, not switching the
RELAY that controls power to the fan. Too much current?

I have a friend who has a ´92 1.6TD jetta and his radiator fan thermo switch
keeps failing - seems to be fine after they replace it, then after 1000km it
stops working and he has to bypass it manually when the engine gets
hot....anyone ever hear of this problem? he had the head replaced a few
thousand kms ago.
