A friend who has run an auto electric shop forever told me yesterday that 
Delco batterries seem to be the only ones that will pass a load test for their 
rating after a couple of days of use.

Cleaning and relubing a starter can make a huge difference in cranking speed. 
 Both ends of battery cable connections can too.  If it doesn't crank fast it 
will not start well.
