[Vwdiesel] How hard to change early 80's gasser to diesel?

How much trouble would I be getting into if I dive in to this?  I though that the
engine/tranny
mounting should match up gas/diesel, or did I mis-think? :)  Any hidden 'gotchas'?

. First hang on to the VIN numbers. --On Rabbits they are easy to transfer. --Read my
lips. Tell this forum where you are ---that takes care of local regulations ----VIN number
can not be moved ?  balderdash.   ---takes me about 10 minutes.
SO?  hang on to your numbers .

If you still insists of using a Gasser ?   ---yes it has been done. ---and a lot of
Diesels were converted to Gasoline.--as well.
