[Vwdiesel] Diesel vs hybrid

You and your engine might be burning less "oil" (gas
or diesel) but your electric plant is burning more to
charge the batteries.

You are simply moving the emissions from your tailpipe
to the power plant.  This is similar to the discussion
about hydrogen vehicles.

However, electricity is relatively cheap in many areas
so that might save you money on the cost to drive your
vehicle.
