[Vwdiesel] Fwd: Hydraulic Lifter Question

I rebuilt an IHC engine a few years ago. The factory manual called for
placing the lifters in a bucket of oil. A push rod was placed in the
lifter and the lifeter was pumped by hand until it filled with oil. I
could feel the lifter fill as I pumped it.

The engine started without clattering.

I do not know if this will work for VW lifters but might be worth a try.
