  It's usually the resistor pack I believe.  If you stand on your head 
on the passenger side, you should be able to see 4 or 5 wires 
running to a block that's screwed to a part of the heater/AC box.  
That would be it.  A stiff turning fan motor (requiring more amperage 
to turn) is usually the culprit of that and melted fan switches.
