[Vwdiesel] Soot problem

LOL, wash it more of course. I did just change the filter, and I was 
toying with the idea of re routing the air intake to draw more fresh 
air rather than suck it from the fender, perhaps one of those small 
hood scoops or running a larger pipe from the air box through the sill 
in front of the windshield.
