[Vwdiesel] Briggs & Stratton problem

I didn't use the teaspoon of gas suggestion but I did poor gas in the float bowl area of the carburator after taking the top of the carburator off exposing the float & bowl. It ran for several seconds until the float bowl ran dry. The carburator is not gravity fed like my Model A Ford. I have ordered a couple of B&S repair manuals from Jack's Small Engine Supply in Maryland. Thanks, all of you, for the tips. Hope to find time this weekend to follow thru on your tips.
