[Vwdiesel] Parts interchange?

Alright, I need someone to lay it down on the line.

The Audi 5-cyl 2.0L diesel, and the VW 1.6L 4-cyl.

How much in the way of parts do they really share? I've been told that, 
aside from stuff like the head, block, crank and cam, injection pump... 
you know, the obviously 5/4-cylinder stuff, the two use identical parts. 
It's just a 1.6L with another cylinder tossed on the end.

Bearings, seals, valves, pistons, connecting rods: how much do they 
really share?

Much appreciation to whomever can lay down the facts!
