Hi
  Apparently it's the methanol that eats the rubber, I haven't heard a 
clear answer about how much more damaging it is than dinodiesel to 
rubber.
  If you have a European diesel ,I was told it has the proper rubber 
lines, so I'm assuming everything else rubber in line too.
  I don't get how a timing belt would be effected unless it gets some 
spilled on it.
   
  I haven't done it yet, but If you want to remove meth from home 
biodiesel, heat it up past the evaporation temp of meth (temp?)you can 
reclaim some of it that way too.
