The bell-housing is the only visible difference aside from the tranny code.  
The bell-housing can be swapped, so it is not totally accurate.  Why do you 
need to know?  What is the project?  The 4-speed diesel vanagon transaxles are 
useless for anything other than a 1.6n/a motor in a vanagon or a sand rail for 
their extremely low gearing.
