[Vwdiesel] Green Rabbit Drove Itself! Couple Qs

Hey all-

The green '81 made a large step towards being a
useable car again today. It drove itself up and down
the ally behind my house for a few blocks. (No tags
or insurance yet, so I can't go on the street.)

It seemed to have pretty reasonable pickup, which is
encouraging and wasn't dumping any fluids anywhere.

Couple questions to confirm my thoughts:

First, the brake pedal won't release on its own. I'm
assuming that there isn't just a spring to pull it up
(the brake will release if I pull the pedal up with my
foot).

I'm assuming that the most likely cause would be an
old swollen brake line. Thoughts?

Second, number three injector is bubbling down by the
head. It is clearly diesel fuel. It also looks like
there is some dampness where the top half connects to
the bottom half of the injector, but not 100% sure it
is leaking there.

Can I just tighten it down a little bit to see if that
will stop the leak, or do I need to pull it and do
further investigation? Thoughts?

Have a nice Memorial Day and thanks to those who
serve.

Thanks,

David
