[Vwdiesel] head needed in central florida

VW part number 068 103 373 F 2BR  (printed on head)  last number off, wrong ? diesel head, 1.6L normally aspirated (non-turbo)

If it's black smoke then it's too much fuel. White smoke and 
it's unburned (sticking injector). Timing usually only makes 
marginal changes in smoking characteristics that I've personally 
seen. It would've been easy enough to get a bit of something in 
an injector line, Murphy's law. Timing will more redily relate to 
difficult starts in cold weather, no performance (yeah, yeah) or 
too rattly (or not rattly enough.)
