Yessir, Wix certainly are good filters.
I go through a lot of filters in a year, most of them wix.
I take most of them apart after use, and they are well made, no defects,
effective filtration media, etc.
I still have a pile of OEM filters to use for the volks fleet. (was
feeling spendy one day, and case price isn't too terribly painful.)
I still prefer OEM, Bosch, Mann, Mahle, Lubrifiner, Wix, Purolater, and
others.
Most every other manufacturer makes good ones, pity that Fram has
acquired such a bad reputation in my mind from the shitty product of
theirs that I had the misfortune to use in the past.
I know they have fixed up their air filters from the thin hard gasket
problems they had early on in my 1.6NA days. That said, I would still
only use their filters to wipe with, merely on principle.
For those that don't know, I blew two cans on the wham-bam-thank-you-
fram oil filters years and years ago.
I thought I should mention that I'm still bitter... just in case you
didn't notice.
<evil laugh>
