One bad injector is probably the problem. White smoke,
even blueish white can be unburned fuel (partially burned
fuel is black, unburned is white). A stream injector can eat
glow plugs, pistons and such so if it's known bad it REALLY
needs fixed and will probably fix the problem. It'll over fuel as
well as leave residual fuel in the combustion chamber to rattle
and overrun.
Rings could be stuck from sitting and adding extra oil also but
with pulling the breather hose not making a difference, runaway
doesn't sound like the absolute problem. Pump could be a little
sticky also. Multiple small problems?
