  I was just talking to my independant shop owner friend the 
other day and these came up.  He said they DO have a fairly 
high failure rate but nothing consistent.  He DID say that he was 
accidentally sent a gasser MAF for a TDI and had it on and 
running before he realized it.  Said it ran just fine and at a 
much lower cost.  You might want to make sure that $90 one 
isn't for a gasser!
  He was paranoid about leaving a wrong part in there so he got 
a correct one and then just happened to end up needing one for 
a gasser so he swapped it in and came out fine on the deal.
