Well,

Marshalltown is about a half hour east of where I live... Pretty much dead
center in Iowa.

The gauge is from an Air-Shields Ventimeter used in removing CO2 from a
patient during surgery.  Its still used in the veterinary field...probably
why it was made in Marshalltown.  Iowa State University, College of
Veterinary Medicine is one of the oldest vet schools in the country, and is
relatively nearby.

That's not to say you can't use it in your car....
