[Vwdiesel] Heat shields

 Rudy, I have an old equine dental tool that I use for many such
instances- Tempered steel with a slight hook on the end. If you can
stick something in the heat shield orifice and give it a bit of
torque/pry... Should break the carbon lock.

Does anyone have any tips for removing stuck Injector Heat Shields
without removing the Head.  The Injectors came out easy but there is a
small amount of Carbon on the lower portion of the boss near the
shields.
 
They don't look to be too bad but don't want to just lift out with a
magnet.
Slide Hammer??
