I thought the price might be a little bit high. 
However, I have been watching the '96 and '97 TDIs on
ebay for several months, and it looks like, really,
the  price isn't out of line for what a lot of them
are going for.  Especially in that mileage range.  The
examples with over 200K are going for less, but ones
with closer to 100K are going for a couple thousand
more.

It is actually a very small town small car dealership
selling it.  I'll inquire about cleaning the intake,
t-belt, etc and if there are no records, use that for
bargaining material.
