That's what I was about to suggest as the problem. Dad'd
finally had it with his on the Passat and just put a "later" filter
in it (that only has the in and out elbows for hoses) and brass
barbed fitting'd the return hoses together. Filter's cheaper, no
thermo thingie to buy also (and have leak) and the bubbles are
gone for good!
