Hopefully your keyway is good. To find out if it is bad the only way I know is to pull the crank bolt off and pull the pulley off and look.

Mine was not put on properly by the rebuilder and it trashed the part that rides on the crank. Thank goodness it didn't bother the crank keyway. The torque procedure from mine was to torque it to 120lbft and then turn it another half a turn. I can say this much that extra half a turn is a bear with it installed in the car and only off the ground 2 feet. I also pulled the oil pan and put a wood block between the crank and the block to keep the engine from turning. With all the talk about the week transmissions I did'nt want to chance breaking something in there and I didn't have a second body to hold the brake pedal as well. At least the oil pain is an easy on and off item.

When My keyway spun I lost a perfectly reconditioned zero mile head, cam and three valves that bent along with all the lifters.
