[Vwdiesel] No diesel - melted cat!

DO NOT breath the dust from the cat Jon.

If you rod it out, do it wet.

It's a ceramic media impregnated with platinum.  Bad for you, and don't 
drill worth shit, unless you are using a rock drill.

I'm for a replacement pipe, even temporary.

Our Passat has none, 2-1/2" pipe from the turbo down,  and a single 
flowmaster at the end. Very highly recommended.

High EGT melts the cat, or excesive carbon in the exhaust while on full 
stomp.
