[Vwdiesel] TDI owners- your help needed

I need some data points, as I'm trying to debug a hard start / no start
TDI problem.

Cranking at 20F and 40F, I get about 189 rpm.  That is measured
with vag-com.  

The tach concurs, showing just a little below 200.  

Can a few people try cranking their cars, without waiting for a glow,
and let me know what they see for speed (on their tach) and what 
their conditions are (esp temperature).  Please do on a cold engine.
