 I don't know Loren, the 40% of oil going to make gasoline might be true
but, it is my understanding that diesel is basically a by-product of
gasoline production. The "dregs" of producing gasoline and other highly
volitile distillates.

  Heard a bogus stat on the news the other night.  They said that 40% of
the oil the US uses goes to make gas!  
Considering how much runs on diesel, kerosene, Jet A, bunker oil, etc
there's no way the numbers would balance out if that percentage were
correct!
