If you consider that EPA regulations are such that it's
nearly impossible to build a new refinery... Small wonder
we end up importing a lot of finished product instead of
crude.
If it were all due to Bush's grand scheme to curtail the
unencumbered flow of oil and thus a resultant tightening or
shortage of crude, we'd be seeing gas lines, shortages and
such like we did in the 70's. The BIG problem is the depsite
the constant climb in the price of fuel, most people have
made darn little change in their demand. Lower the demand
and the price will drop. Keep buying it at $2/gal, $3/gal, $4/
gal and who can blame them for selling it for that, wouldn't
any of you/us??? Then there's some of us that are already
on the cheap and really can't use much less fuel.
