of course we can't forget that it's just good biz for the oil companies
not to open another refinery. There has never been a shortage of oil,
even after hurricane katrina, just lack of capacity. Why build
something that's only going to cut into your bottom line, if there is
more fuel, the price couldn't be so high.
I don't think people want to use more fuel, it's just that they can't
cut back on the fuel they use. Me for example, I drive 52 miles one way
to work 5 and sometimes 7 days a week. that;s why I'm trying to keep my
golf alive. Could I move closer to where I currently work, sure I
could, but how many are willing to move from where they are
comfortable. The general thought should be that the American people
need to start putting pressure on elected officials to force them to
allow companies to import the fuel saving cars from europe and other
countries. Bring the big three to their collective knees and they will
make a decent car that gets good mileage. in the words of my youth,
"stick it to the man"
