It's in Dad's MB 220D factory repair manual as well.
After seeing it in all three "first diesels" (MB, VW, Audi)
I tend to be quite comfortable using it. Never a problem
and a gallon into a nearly full tank loosens the whole tank
nearly instantly. No heating, no waiting, no problems yet.

Then there was that one year when the jar of #2 on the
shop bench was about the consistecy of that stuff surrounding
a canned ham and the #1 had long, sliver-like crystals and
was noticeably thickened. (the shop was under a normal temp.
heated house.) When I saw that I didn't trust 80/20 blends on
the trip we were taking and I was even a bit leary of straight
#1! Drove nearly 3K miles at mostly -25F +/- with no hitches
other than when we inexplicably lost coolant. THAT was
scary!!! Refilled it and it didn't drop again but I did pull the
head gasket when we got home just to be sure/safe.
Nothing quite like the prospect of freezing up at 30 below!
     Loren
