Hi Don;
As Rodger says you can take the riveted glass wind wings from a
donor car but you can also take the non opening wing windows from a donor
car since either will work. You need the metal hardware that holds the
window in to do either conversion. Cabriolets and Jetta I think have used
both Solids and riveted hinge wings. To get one them of a donor you need a
Phillips screw driver to remove a screw from the top front of the wind up
window and then take off the door panel and drill out a rivet. It takes a
little pulling and shaking to get the window and its frame out but you don't
need a new gasket you just install the whole assembly in your pickup. I
don't know if a solid wing gasket would fit in the glued on wing channel but
at least you would have to somehow remove the window hinges that held the
glue in window.

I need?
Not sure on the gasket p/n, but you can grab a vent window out of another A1
with the
drilled-mounted vent window hardware. That is what I did on my old '81,
later moved those parts to
my '82. Direct swap, I got my windows from VW at the time. One rivet needs
to be drilled out to
remove the parts at the junkyard.
