[Vwdiesel] States that allow conversions? WAS: TDI Passet 4 motion

  That depends on where you're at.  In the Seattle/Tacoma 
area and possibly Spokane, you have smog checks so changing 
things might take a little.  Most of the rest of the State has no 
smog checks so there'd be no way to know if you'd swapped 
engines or not.
  I talked to the local State Patro inspector about importing a 
newer diesel once and his suggestion was to import an engine 
and what was needed and then swap it into a DOT leagal 
chassis.
