Andrew if your failure has been sudden; and now you find you have no fuel... 
  Either you have an empty tank (I don't believe it ;oD )... or something in 
the tank has floated across the suction pipe. Disconnect the fuel line where 
it enters the filter (from the tank) and get something to suck on it... I 
use a 60cc plastic syringe from the daily discards of hospitals. (saline 
sol'n use) if nothing comes up then use it to blow.
