I do oil analysis on my vehicles. I use Blackstone Laboratories and it isn't
cheap. Cost me $40 a sample. Here is my latest one on the 91 Jetta TD.

I had a Purolator air filter in before I changed it out this time to a Car
Quest AKA Wix air filter. They had to have it shipped in from South
Carolina, the main Car Quest warehouse in Raleigh NC didn't have it. I'm
going to see how this one works out on my oil analysis and if it does ok
then I will keep with it. If not then I will get a Mann or Mahle from
Autohauze.

Wow, I never did get the outcome of that. That is
really crazy that a 10K old air filter could do that
in a non-desert setting.

Good find, was it a different kind of filter then you
normally use or had used? I hope it was not a Mann
