Yeah, I pretty much agree except that "with their value retention", now you
can get older ones whole value has not retented.  :-)  If you are willing to
put a small amount of sweat equity into one you can usually get a really
nice and very reliable car for significantly LESS that what a similar
year/condition Rabbit would be.  Don't get me wrong, I love the dubs and the
mileage gets lots of points with me, but the Benz is a classier and nicer
car and older ones that will still go for another 10 or 20 years can be had
for a song.
