[Vwdiesel] Diesel Pickups

My dad was asking me about a diesel powered pickup to
pull a 5-th wheel he is thinking of buying.

I said that all I knew of was that Dodge, Ford, and GM
all made diesel trucks and had for some time.  I said
I figured that meant that really, any of them are
probably fine.

I know a lot of people are Ford guys and hate Chevy
and Dodge or are Dodge guys who Ford and Chevy, etc. 
But I'm hoping for maybe a less biased opinion here.

Anyone have any recommendations?  Or things to look
for/avoid on particular models.  Feel free to comment
off-list.
