Brian Decker, if you have been following the various comments, you know I am also reviving an '81 Dasher diesel wagon. I have got my Dasher to get back on the road but waiting for proof of insurance so I can renew my Calif. license tabs. In getting 53 MPG with your Dasher, did you poke along at 45 to 50 MPG or did you drive at the speed limit plus a little bit? Once I begin driving it, I will be checking my MPG too. Do you have the stock Dasher & stock 4 speed? I don't recall who, but someone has a Quantum diesel & 5 speed in their Dasher diesel.
