[Vwdiesel] Hello Again

Hi everyone,

After a long break from the list, I am back.  My studies and extracurricular activities at university are what kept me away, but I have since graduated with my engineering degree and am working full time.  I still have all of my vehicles, with the addition of a 97 Jetta TDI, so I will relying on the list to bring me up to speed on this new-to-me technology.  Here is the status of my vehicles:

84 Rabbit 1.6 NA:  239,000 miles... still no engine work has been done, except timing belts and water pump.  It is certainly starting to show its 6 winters of Rochester, NY (including a few SCCA Winter Rally sessions)

81 Audi 5000, 2.0 NA:  a bunch of miles... full restoration project begins shortly.  Anyone have a turbo short block for this one???  Loren are you still out there??

83 Vanagon 2.0 (Bastard Fuel):  170,00 miles.  On loan to my recently married friend so he and his wife can drive from Boston to Mexico and back.  Not sure if I will see it again.  Looking for a diesel Westy to replace it.

I would like to thank the list for all of the help I received through college.  A very nice member on this list (already forgot who it was!) graciously let me use some parts off of his rabbit parts car when I got into a fairly bad accident.  Because of is help, Rudolf is still on the road today.

It's a great community, and I am glad to be a part of it again.
