[Vwdiesel] 1.6 td swap - leaky IP

Just had a 1.6 td installed in my rabbit pickup and the accelerator linkage 
seal on the injection pump is leaking fuel at idle. The guy who sold it to 
me said that since I let the engine sit a year before installing it, the 
seal could be leaky, so he sprayed some BG in-force penetrating fluid on it 
and said that sometimes the seal will swell up after a few days of driving. 
If this doesn't work, can I simply replace the seal or do you think I will 
need to get the IP rebuilt?
