[Vwdiesel] Cast Iron Thoughts

H'mm I bought my favourite digital Pentax camera (point and shoot that is) 
from there... Surely with a bit of sand a wooden box and a magnifying glass 
some one could do this in the back yard :o)
Maybe it would create a Lister /Petter type stationary engine...

Just put one of my Quantae through it's annual road worthyness test.  Failed 
on a 5 cents sized hole in near side front floor pan. "Within so many feet 
of a jacking point" apparently  Looking on the other side it's where a 
carpet fastening screw goses through the floor... Probably caused by someone 
lifting the carpet and not looking underneath to reseal the screw.  Not bad 
for a 19 yr old car.

Volkeswagen have just told me that since last Christmas the 'front 
front-subframe bushes have been discontinued... however rear front-subframe 
bushesstill in stock but may be ended soon. Time to stock up I think. 
Funnily I was only just talking about how some of those bushes last forever 
and some don't last more than a few years.

Anyone into vulcanising? I bet if we had a Nigerian on the forum we could 
get them repaired in a baked bean can on the side of the road...
