Got the ARP racing 12mm studs, re tapped the bolt holes 12mm, 1.75 pitch, but didn't get them exactly straight. Next time will make some kind of jig to see the drill & taps go in straight (suggestions?) . However, I successfully fought getting the head back on. Then first torqued to 20 foot pounds, then re -torqued up to 70 pounds in 10 pound increments. Everything seems to be holding including the right front where the crack exists. I don't know if I want to go to 80 pounds & push my luck? I used the molly grease provided by ARC on both the block & head side except for the right front hole where the crack exists. Used high temperature RTV as I drilled the hole deeper into the water jacket. I bought a compression tester a few months ago on eBay but haven't used it yet. Should I remove the glow plugs or the injectors to run the compression test, or doesn't it make any difference? After running the compression test, I think I will run a compression test on the other two diesel engines I have in case I'm not successful in saving this Dasher engine. I have the engine locked at TDC with a screw driver jammed against the fly wheel, the injection pump locked in it's proper place as well as the valves per jig on the back of the camshaft per Bentley, the same way I did it before.
