[Vwdiesel] Injector pumps interchange

So, I have a 1982 Jetta 1.6 N/A and a 1979 or 80 Rabbit 1.5 N/A. The pump leaks on the Jetta, and I'm almost finished replacing all the stuff on the Rabbit. I haven't touched the Jetta yet. This fall, it goes under the knife. Until I do, I want the Jetta for two road trips I have planned. 

Problem is, the IP is leaking. The Rabbit pump doesn't. As I've rebuilt/replaced nearly everything on the Rabbit, I'd also like to put the rebuilt (Jetta) pump on it, and put the non-leaking pump onto the Jetta. 

Is this possible, and what are the (if any) differences between them? 

Oh, and I don't have the money to rebuild both right now - hence the dillema.
