[Vwdiesel] '96 Passat rear defrost question

  When my car arrived it had a bunch of broken glass all over the back but 
all the widows were intact.  Seller figured it was his inept helper that broke 
the windshield and left the replacement bumper sitting in his yard.
  Looks like the shipper broke it and replaced it with apparently a new one.  
While cleaning out all the bits of glass, getting the rear lock to work and 
such, I found the window isn't electrically connected!  I can't find any wired 
to connect it to either!  It has the defrost button on the dash, which also 
does the heated mirrors.  VW wouldn't just do heated mirrors on the switch would 
they?  
  I don't have a wiring diagram so I don't know what colors to look for along 
the line since I can't find a disconnected connector.  Anybody able to help 
with wire colors or seen a wagon without heated rear glass yet has a def 
button?  <shrug>
