Audi wasn't the only car with inboard disk brakes. All the Citroen DS/ID series has them from the first DS-19 introduced at the Paris auto show in Oct. 1955 until the last DS-23 rolled off the assembly line in 1974. Front disk brakes returned to the outside wheel hubs in the CX series, probably due to the traverse engine. I think the Citroen DS/ID series was one of the finest auto designs ever. I have heard roomers that some DS/ID Citroens have been converted to diesels. Do any of you members in the UK or Finland know anything about this? If so, how was it done?
