Powered it up with my portable battery jumper & found the fuel gage worked so removed the interment cluster. Found the printed circuit board was damaged & wired installed to bypass the break. Also found the voltage stabilizer was easily removed so put it in my '81 Dasher's instrument cluster. Now everything works. so, some new questions:

Also, are new printed circuit boards expensive or cheap & easy to find. This would save the instrument cluster I took out of the 1980 Dasher. Is it worthwhile to fix it & put it on the shelf, or should I try to just try & source extra one from a junk yard?

PC traces can be repaired with a silver paint (as in real silver powder in it not silver
colored). I once got a bottle at an electronics shop, worked to repair the rear window
defroster traces on my old '78 Rabbit.
