Did you remove both nuts?
If it's the same as my jetta, there's a nut, a big dish shaped washer, then another nut that
you need to use a socket for ,it's below the line of sight if you're not looking down on it.
A couple days ago I replaced one shock and spring, but the other one I couldn't get the
second nut off because the shock bolt keeps turning with it, next weekend weather
permitting.

Hi all,
I am changing the rear shocks on my 84 Rabbit the
lower bolt of the shock is stuck. I got the nut off,
but I can't get the bolt to slide through so I can get
the lower part of the shock out. It turns and I have
tried heating it with a torch, that just seems to make
it turn easier, but I still can't push it out or bang
it through. Anybody got any tips.
Thanks
Dave
