A friend and I were talking about these "green" things
that take so much energy, etc to produce, or are
dangerous to dispose of once they are used up.

It goes back to people solely being concerned with
carbon, like that is the worst thing that could
possibly happen to the earth. If they looked at the
*whole* picture, I think carbon would be fairly low on
the scale. And like the windmill shipping, they don't
even look at the whole carbon picture all the time.

Now, since we all know that our fossil based fuels are
eventually going to run out, we do need to be
exploring alternatives simply because eventually we'll
have no choice. That is why I think it is good to
work on things like efficient light bulbs and power
generating windmills. We have to start somewhere, and
the things we have now are probably the Commodore 64
versions...we potentially have a long way to go as far
as that technology goes.

Back to cars, I personally think that when the overall
picture is considered, our cars have to be much more
green than anything sold this year. Simply because
think about how many resources aren't being used to
build new cars because we are keeping 15-20 year old
cars on the road. Talk about reducing, reusing, and
recycling!

David
